Are you familiar with progressive Indian cuisine? If not, it’s time to experience it, and Rooh Chicago is just the place to do so. This West Randolph Street establishment offers so many delicious dishes, you may not know where to start.
The dinner menu is split simply enough between small and large plates. However, each category offers such a wide variety of flavors, you might want to order a mixture of both to share. Check out the dahi puri, made with avocado and tamarind, and served with both a chutney and a mousse. Don’t overlook the Kashmiri lamb ribs, either, which are served with a wonderful apricot and chili marmalade. On the larger side, the paneer pinwheel looks like a real winner, with its redpepper makhani, pepperoncini, and fenugreek butter powder.
Save some room for dessert, too. The milk cake is particularly intriguing, as it is served with barley caramel and peach lassi sorbet. Speaking of sorbets, the house-churned ice cream comes in a variety of interesting flavors. Blood orange and chili and smoked mango are just two of the standouts!
