Satisfy a Craving for Japanese Fare at Nori & Wasabi
12 March 2020

Have you heard of Nori & Wasabi? It's a sushi bar on North Halsted Street, less than four miles from your apartment at Two West. Though this eatery has been open less than one year, it has already received acclaim for its high-quality Japanese fare and excellent service.

Technically, Nori & Wasabi isn’t a bar, per se. In fact, it serves no alcohol at all, instead operating as a BYOB establishment. But that takes nothing away from the level of craft and care its chefs deliver to hungry customers. The special rolls are impressive. The Halsted features shrimp tempura, avocado, crab meat, and cucumber, topped off by salmon. The Brownie is filled with baked salmon skin, then topped by eel, sesame seeds, and eel sauce. And yes, true to the zeitgeist, you can order a sushi burrito here, filled with spicy tuna, salmon, crab meat, avocado, lettuce, and wasabi mayo. Of course, they also offer a number of a la carte options, as well as classic rolls (like the California) and other small bites. Not in the mood for sushi? Fear not: the rice bowls and udon noodle dishes are sure to satisfy.

Free parking is offered in the CVS parking lot next door to the restaurant.
