A former ghost kitchen now has a physical storefront! Bloom Plant Based Kitchen, a plant-based gluten-free restaurant, is now open at 1559 N Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. Open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 5 to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 5 to 8 p.m., Bloom Plant Based Kitchen opened to the public in July of 2021.
From the creators of Amaru and owned by chef Rodolfo Cuadros, Bloom Plant Based Kitchen’s beginnings were inspired by Cuadros’s desire to help his customers nourish their bodies and take care of the environment. The restaurant’s focus is to bring flavorful, affordable, and healthy vegetarian food to Chicago. With Asian- and Latin-infused flavors, Bloom’s menu includes 100% plant-based and gluten-free items like Cultured Cheese Board, with almond goat cheese, aged truffle cheese, spirulina blue cheese, and seasonal marmalade, served with flax seed crackers and house pickles. Also on the menu are vegan items, including Thai Papaya Salad, Lasagna, and Beet Dumplings.
