Chicago boasts a reputation for churning out some of the best comedy talents in the country. From the Second City stages to the iO, improv and standup performers often sharpen their skills in the Windy City before hitting it big. The same could be said of the stage at the iconic laugh factory, which has helped to launch the careers of everyone from JD Koy to Tim Allen.
Its Chicago location hosts an uproarious after-hours show every weekend, fittingly dubbed Saturday Late Night Laughs. It doesn’t even kick off until 11:30 p.m., allowing you plenty of time to grab a few drinks at one of Lakeview’s popular bars before you hit the club. Reserve a free ticket and arrive a little early to grab a good seat, then kick back for a couple of hours of laughs. Comedians from nearby neighborhoods and across the nation converge to give their tongue-in-cheek takes on everything from dating in the modern age to current events. While admission is free, note that there is a two-drink minimum, and this show is only suitable for adults.
