If you love to unwind with a glass of fine wine after work, the West Loop’s Winestyr should be on your radar. This “wine marketplace” does things a little differently. First, and perhaps most importantly, its founders work directly with small vineyards around the country (more than 125 of them) to curate their wine collection. There’s no middle man, which makes it easier for these small, independent businesses to get their vinos out to the masses.
Secondly, you can’t just walk in and grab a bottle of wine. Winestyr operates by appointment only, which allows guests a chance to taste different wines with small bites and find their favorite. It also grants every customer some one-on-one time with the team who actually handpicks each bottle of wine, so feel free to come with questions. At the end of your private tasting, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for one of the wine clubs, which includes delivery of a sommelier-selected assortment of wines to your door on a regular basis. But you can also just take home a bottle or two, or place an order online and have it shipped right to you.
